Concept

The interior design concept centers on celebrating the inherent beauty of natural materials while maintaining a contemporary and luxurious aesthetic. Textures like wood, basalt, brass, and glass are intricately woven into each space, showcasing their organic qualities while exuding understated elegance. By emphasizing bespoke craftsmanship and cohesive elements, the interiors achieve a timeless sense of comfort and warmth, complementing the home’s architectural statement.

Challenge

The challenge was to create interiors that resonate with the bold geometry and raw materiality of the exterior, while instilling warmth and functionality within the spaces. This required exceptional attention to detail, ensuring every element could integrate into a design that elevates both beauty and livability.

Layout

The interior layout of Sierra House skillfully balances open communal areas with intimate private spaces, creating a flow throughout the residence. Shared spaces, such as the living room, kitchen, and dining area, are strategically organized on the main floor to encourage interaction, while the private bedrooms occupy the upper levels. The lower level houses specialized zones like the wine room and spa area, fostering areas for leisure. This thoughtful spatial organization ensures that every corner of the home is functional while maintaining a unified and elegant narrative.

Implementation

Each zone within the project embodies a carefully considered design language. The living room centers around a dramatic basalt-textured wall and is bathed in natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows that connect the interior with the scenic outdoors. Italian-crafted furniture and a bespoke staircase elevate the room, while walnut veneer shelves and plush upholstered seating add warmth and refinement.

The kitchen is a blend of high-end materials, with gray marble enveloping the walls, floors, and a central island, creating a striking visual flow. Warm wood detailing and caramel leather chairs soften the aesthetic, while brass accents provide continuity. Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining area features a spacious natural wood table illuminated by a sleek, modern lamp. Wooden panels subtly define this zone, maintaining an intimate yet connected ambiance.

One of the standout spaces in the house is the wine room. Its centerpiece, a monumental natural rock island, was sourced as a single, breathtakingly heavy stone. Its sheer weight made it impossible to maneuver after the walls were erected. To solve this challenge, it was strategically placed with a crane during the early construction phase, long before the walls were built. This bold planning allowed the designers to incorporate this astounding element, transforming the wine room into a sensory marvel. Alongside the rock island, bespoke brass shelving, crafted with the precision of fine jewelry, enhances both the functionality and aesthetic of the space, offering an exquisite display for wine bottles and stemware.

The adjoining sport and spa area combines industrial sophistication with serene chic, featuring a stainless steel pool and corten ceiling. Natural light enhances the raw textures, while a marble-clad massage room with direct access to a resting area ensures relaxation and privacy.

Private spaces like the master bedroom exude warmth and elegance, with upholstered furniture, smart lighting, and a well-appointed dressing room designed for both finesse and practicality. Guest bedrooms mirror this thoughtful approach, blending soft, natural textures with bespoke furniture to create inviting retreats.

Custom

The implementation of Sierra House’s interiors is a triumph of meticulous craftsmanship and exclusivity, with every detail carefully curated to create a residence of unparalleled sophistication. The team devoted considerable time to selecting and arranging materials to achieve visual harmony. The walnut veneer, chosen for its rich color and organic texture, underwent extensive refinement, with countless samples and varnishes tested to achieve the perfect finish. This veneer was integrated with custom parquet flooring and exquisite wooden stairs, crafted exclusively in Italy after an exhaustive search for the ideal design and materials.

The project also features a vast array of custom-made products that underline its exclusivity and bespoke nature. The kitchen and fireplace were entirely custom-designed, incorporating intricate details and high-quality materials tailored to the owners’ preferences. Beds were another highlight of this tailored process, requiring endless exchanges of samples to perfect both style and comfort. Furthermore, collaborations with foreign contractors played a pivotal role in executing this extraordinary vision, such as the Italian-made brass racks with delicate rods, which demanded meticulous alignment at every step.
