Eterna Residence

Architectural design of a contemporary residential interior in Vienna
About

Brief

Yodezeen studio, a leading architectural design firm renowned for its expertise in high-end architecture and bespoke design solutions, was commissioned to reimagine the interior of a distinguished 443-square-meter residence in Vienna. Spanning three floors, this project was a prime example of blending classical architectural design with modern interior architecture to create a luxurious home. The primary objective was to reflect Vienna's timeless elegance while introducing contemporary design elements, custom partitions, and fashionable furnishings that define modern architecture today.

Challenge

The main challenge lay in harmonizing the historic charm of the Viennese building with modern design principles. The team at Yodezeen had to carefully balance the introduction of contemporary features without overshadowing the building’s inherent elegance. The goal was to preserve the essence of Vienna’s architectural history while infusing it with a fresh, modern aesthetic that appeals to today’s sophisticated tastes.

Layout

The residence is spread across three levels, each designed to maximize space and light. The ground floor houses the master suite, while the first floor serves as the main living area, featuring a spacious living room with an open-plan layout and a home office. The second floor is dedicated to the kitchen and dining zone, as well as three guest suites.

Concept

Inspired by the rich history and cultural heritage of Vienna, the design concept centered around the idea of creating a space that resonates with the city’s timeless elegance. The interior features classical elements such as intricate moldings on the ceilings, complemented by contemporary touches like custom partitions and modern furniture. The color palette is dominated by soft beige and creamy tones, creating a warm and chic atmosphere. The furniture selection includes trendsetting boucle pieces that add texture and comfort, while large flat-screen televisions are discreetly integrated into custom metal bookshelves, combining functionality with style.

Implementation

The execution of this project showcases Yodezeen’s ability to blend tradition with modernity. The centerpiece of the design is a stunning spiral staircase that gracefully connects all three floors. This staircase, with its rounded edges, softens the interior and serves as a focal point, drawing the eye upward. The staircase is a work of art in itself, with the interior railing crafted from veneer and the exterior adorned with decorative plaster. The marble steps are illuminated, adding a touch of grandeur.

Throughout the residence, delicate parquet flooring, laid in an intricate pattern, enhances the overall elegance of the space. The combination of classical and contemporary elements, from the plaster moldings to the modern furniture and lighting, results in a harmonious blend that reflects the spirit of Vienna. The final design is a testament to Yodezeen’s expertise in creating spaces that are both timeless and modern, paying homage to the past while embracing the future.
