Challenge

The primary challenge for YODEZEEN was to integrate the architectural vision of the Spanish architect, who devised the layout of the house. The goal was to conceptualize the exterior and interior, capturing the essence of sunny Barcelona while meeting the specific requests of the clients. This included creating vibrant and extravagant spaces, utilizing durable materials suitable for a household with pets, and ensuring the design harmonized with the challenging topography of the site.

Layout

The layout of the house was meticulously planned to cater to the needs of the family. It comprises three bedrooms, two children’s rooms, a separate office, communal living spaces, an elevator, a spa zone, indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, a garage, a separate kitchen, and various terraces with specific purposes. The positioning of furniture and the incorporation of panoramic windows ensured that essential vantage points offered stunning views of the sea.

Implementation

YODEZEEN not only conceptualized the design but also took charge of project implementation. Regular site visits were conducted to oversee the construction process and monitor the production of custom elements.

Inspired by the sun-kissed ambiance of Barcelona, corten steel facades were chosen for their vibrant and natural appeal. The rusty hue, graffiti on the facades, and transparent glass inserts as load-bearing “walls” collectively brought the conceptualized design to life. Every detail, from the staircase’s ceramic and brass composition to the complex geometry of the lift core, reflected the studio’s commitment to innovative and intriguing design choices.

Customization was essential, as it shaped the very identity of the residence. Bespoke elements, like the turquoise dining area shelf and its precision-crafted nano-technology finishes, were crucial in defining the distinctive character of the home.

The result is a residence that seamlessly blends Spanish architectural influence with YODEZEEN’s distinctive flair, meeting the clients’ desires for a bright, extravagant, and functional family home.
