Project Big Detail Photo
THE ICON by YODEZEEN has been featured in ELLE Decor Italia, highlighting the transformation of an existing three-story building into a 1,000-square-meter journey through fashion, art, and architecture. Defined by stone, metal, and light, each space reveals its own atmosphere, while a shifting thread of red guides visitors from one floor to the next.

Project's Overview

As contemporary fashion brands seek new ways to build meaningful connections with their audiences, their physical spaces are evolving into carefully curated destinations where architecture, art and design become inseparable from the identity they represent. ICON, YODEZEEN’s latest three-level retail project, responds to this transformation by exploring the showroom as an immersive architectural experience rather than a traditional place of display.

Concept

The defining element of ICON is its ability to shift character while maintaining a strong sense of identity.

Across all three levels, a recurring red tone acts as a subtle architectural thread. Rather than functioning as a decorative accent, the colour changes its expression through different materials and atmospheres, becoming a visual narrative that connects the entire project.

Implementation

The studio approached each brand as a separate narrative, analysing its heritage, aesthetics, and DNA before developing individual spatial solutions. For Acne Studios, sculptural display elements reference fragmented classical forms, while the Rick Owens corner explores a darker, more atmospheric expression through refined timber details. Above, David Groppi lighting installations create a subtle rhythm across the ceiling, allowing illumination to become a unifying architectural element. Throughout ICON, architecture acts as a curator rather than a backdrop. It creates a dialogue between different brands, materials and artistic expressions while allowing each element to retain its own identity. ICON becomes a reflection of how luxury itself is evolving: from possession toward experience, from display toward discovery. Through a carefully choreographed combination of architecture, art and materiality, YODEZEEN creates a space where every detail contributes to a larger narrative — one that can only exist through physical presence.
