Ensconced in a Pine Forest near Kyiv
The architecture of this building is dictated by the landscape: the customer's wanted a house that would merge with nature- and a tree grows through it! Coming onto this 1 floor home of marble, glass and metal, a hiker might not see it until within 100M. The layout of the house is a series of simple geometric shapes and two glass atriums. Even with a minimalist ethic, it is possible to be environmentally friendly and comfortable. Dry European laconicism is alien to Slavic people… our climate is colder- we need warmth and humanity. So we tried to warm the minimalism with natural textures, wood, and warm colors.
