Brief
The task at hand was to design four villas, all unified in a singular stylistic theme, yet distinct in their architectural volumes. Architects achieved unique architectural expressions through diverse design methods, employing a decorative mesh screen format for Ethereal Villa.
Challenge
The challenge lay in striking a delicate balance between uniformity and diversity. Designing four villas with shared stylistic elements while ensuring each had its own identity presented a formidable challenge. Architects had to navigate the complexities of spatial planning, structural engineering, and aesthetic considerations to achieve a harmonious composition.
Layout
An intriguing aspect of the planning involved the second floor of the house seemingly hovering over the ground, casting shadows for outdoor areas in the backyard. All primary rooms face the internal facade, remaining unobstructed by the main element of this concept — the mesh screen, thereby offering breathtaking views of the Burj Khalifa. Additionally, the design includes a four-car garage, a home spa, a gym, and a cinema. The third floor, nestled within the main volume and accentuated by greenery, is entirely dedicated to a master suite.
Concept
The concept revolves around blending modern architecture with the surrounding environment, utilizing open spaces, and maximizing natural light penetration. Ethereal Villa is envisioned as a harmonious retreat, integrating luxurious amenities with contemporary design elements, all while celebrating the panoramic vistas of Dubai.
Implementation
The implementation involves the use of metal mesh screens on windows, which not only create architectural allure but also maintain privacy while allowing ample natural light into the interiors. The primary materials used include natural stone travertine, metal, and glass, lending a sophisticated yet earthy ambiance to the villa.
