Project Big Detail Photo
The idea behind this house was born from the land itself — a tranquil stream that winds through the landscape, shaping not just the terrain but the vision of the home. Inspired by this natural element, we sought to blend the structure with the surrounding environment, allowing the flow of water to guide the design.

Concept

This is a home that feels as though it is a part of the land, shaped by the natural forces that surround it.

Each room captures the essence of the mountains, framing them as living works of art, bringing the beauty of the landscape into everyday life. The material choices reflect the soul of the region, ensuring that the house will stand the test of time, both in terms of its aesthetic and its connection to nature.

Layout

The central area, composed of the lounge and dining room, appears to float above the stream, offering stunning panoramic views of the mountains and the surrounding natural beauty. The living spaces are organized to maximize their connection to the outdoors, with large windows and open floor plans that invite light and air. Each room is oriented towards different parts of the landscape, providing varying views that evolve throughout the day. The separation of the two main volumes ensures that each section of the home serves its purpose, whether for gathering, retreat, or relaxation, while the central open space acts as a vital link.

Materials

The material palette was chosen to reflect the region’s natural beauty and cultural identity, blending rustic and contemporary elements. Corten steel roofing gives the house a modern, weathered look while protecting it from the elements. Hand-molded brick and reclaimed wood evoke a sense of craftsmanship and history, adding texture and warmth to the structure. Windows with classic mullions soften the sharp lines of the design, allowing light and air to penetrate every corner of the home.
