Project Big Detail Photo
Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary is a dual-species animal shelter located in Canada, designed to redefine how care environments can feel. The architecture balances functionality with emotional warmth, using natural materials such as corten steel, stone, and wood to evoke a sense of safety and dignity.

Composition

The layout is divided into two wings: one for horses, one for dogs.

A central sunken lobby connects them and introduces natural light into the lower level, which hosts public and educational functions: donation-based retail, classrooms, flexible workspaces, and private adoption rooms. These zones support community engagement while enabling sensitive first encounters between animals and adopters.
