YODEZEEN studio is partnering with Atoll Estates, a prominent real estate company from the Emirates, to spearhead the development of three luxurious resorts in the Maldives: Dunes, Vibrant, and Elegant. YODEZEEN’s focus is primarily on the Elegant Resort, located across several islands within the Maldives archipelago, which is set to open in Spring 2026. The concept is to blend the stunning natural landscapes of the Maldives with contemporary architectural designs, creating an immersive experience for guests.
YODEZEEN’s design approach for the Elegant Resort is rooted in a harmonious integration with the natural environment. The villas, residences, and communal spaces are all carefully placed to maximize the breathtaking views of the Maldives’ turquoise waters and lush greenery. The design emphasizes open spaces, natural materials, and sustainable features, ensuring that the development feels both luxurious and environmentally conscious.
Layout
The Elegant Resort spans multiple islands, each designed to provide a unique yet cohesive experience. The first island will feature 59 private villas, designed with 1- and 2-bedroom configurations. The villas will be complemented by a range of thematic restaurants, each offering distinct dining experiences. The second island, known as the Island of Mansions, will offer 17 larger residences, ranging from 4 to 8 bedrooms. These mansions are designed for either ownership or long-term leasing, providing guests with the utmost privacy and comfort. Additionally, the project includes a Private Island, which will be an exclusive reservation-only experience for guests.

The challenge lies in translating the vision for this luxury resort into a reality.
With the ambitious scale of the project and the unique requirements of each island, YODEZEEN must carefully balance creativity with functionality. The design and construction must respect the natural environment while offering world-class amenities.
Implementation Process
The construction of the Elegant Resort is a monumental task, with each element carefully planned to ensure high standards of quality.
From sourcing sustainable materials to ensuring the structural integrity of the villas and residences, YODEZEEN is heavily involved in overseeing every aspect of the construction.
The challenges are particularly unique due to the resort’s location in the Maldives, where logistical issues and environmental factors must be carefully managed. The resort’s design incorporates elements that blend with the natural surroundings while offering modern comforts, creating a balance between nature and innovation.
Approximately 40 members of the YODEZEEN team are actively involved in the daily operations of the Elegant Resort project. The team is responsible for coordinating various aspects of the project, including site visits, regular meetings with Atoll Estates and other partners, and global factory visits to ensure that the highest quality materials are sourced. The implementation process also includes in-depth discussions with local contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure that all elements of the resort, from the villas to the landscaping, meet the highest standards of luxury and sustainability.
